South Jakarta Forestry Sub-department personnel transported splintered angsana tree branches located on Jalan Arteri Pondok Indah, Pondok Pinang, Kebayoran Lama.

Wind is quite strong that cause its branch to splinter

Branches of angsana tree with diameter 24 centimeters were allegedly splintered due to strong wind.

"Wind is quite strong that cause its branch to splinter. Our personnel on the field have handled it," said South Jakarta Forestry Sub-department's Green Space and Cemetery Section Head, Bambang Muhirdan, Tuesday (10/22).

According to him, upper side of this tree has weathered thus its branch is prone to splinter. Although there were no casualties, but this incident caused traffic jam on the location.

"Tree's upper side has weathered. We can't detect it because its location is too high," he said.
